Renault Kadjar - the world premiere of the five-seater crossover took place in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show. The model is built on the same platform (Common Module Family or CMF for short) with the popular SUV Nissan Qashqai, and in the Renault model range it is located one step higher than the five-door captur.
A relative of the Renault-Nissan alliance, the new Kadjar has outgrown by 72 mm (4449 mm), but the wheelbase of the cars of the French and Japanese brands is the same - 2646 mm. The front suspension of all Renault Kadjar modifications is with McPherson struts, but there are differences in the rear. On the front-wheel drive versions, a semi-dependent scheme with a torsion beam is used, and on the all-wheel drive version, a multi-link rear. Angles of entry and exit are 18 and 28 degrees, respectively, and the ground clearance is declared at 186 mm.
Renault Kadjar is equipped with petrol and diesel turbo engines with the Stop&Start system. Gearboxes: mechanical six-speed, as well as preselective "robots" EDC in six- and seven-speed modifications. In two-pedal crossovers, the operation of the box can be commanded in manual mode, though without paddle shifters. In addition, the Extended Grip system is available for a surcharge for mono-drivers, which helps when driving on roads with poor grip (snow, sand, mud), braking the drive wheels to improve patency.

The volume of the trunk with the backs of the second row raised and taking into account the stowage in the underground is 409 liters. The backrest folds in a ratio of 1/2 and 2/3, forming a flat floor. In addition, in older trim levels with an optional leather interior, you can order a front passenger seat with a folding backrest for transporting long items.
The basic equipment of the Renault Kadjar includes: front and side front airbags for the driver and passenger, front and rear curtain airbags, ABS, ESP, EBV (brake force distribution), AFU (emergency braking assistance), ASR (traction control) and an assistance system when starting uphill. Also installed by default are LED daytime running lights, tire pressure sensors, air conditioning, heated front seats, front and rear pulse electric windows, front center armrest, cruise control, automatic parking brake, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, an audio system with a display on three lines, USB, AUX, Bluetooth and steering column control.
In more expensive trim levels, the air conditioner is replaced by dual-zone climate control, there are fog lights, side mirrors are folded electrically, the driver's seat is equipped with electric adjustments, parking sensors are installed, and only a key card is needed to access the salon. In the top version, Kadjar is equipped with an R-Link2 media system with a 7-inch touch screen and navigation, a rear-view camera and a blind spot monitoring system. In addition to this, a panoramic roof and a semi-automatic parking system are available for an extra charge - the driver only presses the pedals and switches transmission modes, and the car makes maneuvers independently, focusing on the readings of the sensors.
Serial production of the crossover Renault Kadjar in the European specification has been established in Spain.
