Description Renault Kadjar

Renault Kadjar (Phase 2) - an updated version of the five-seater crossover Kadjar. Presented in October 2018 at the Paris Motor Show. Ukrainian premiere of the restyled "Kajar" took place in December of the same year in Kyiv. The model is built on the same platform (Common Module Family or CMF for short) with Nissan Qashqai, and in the model range of the French brand is one step higher than the five-door captur.

The restyled Renault Kadjar received a new, wider grille, a different front bumper with reduced black inserts and a new chrome trim for the foglight sections. To match other Renault novelties of recent years, C-shaped swirls of running lights were added to the crossover headlights, which, thanks to LED elements, also act as turn indicators. In addition, the French made the rear lights of the Kajar more expressive, and expanded and supplemented the decorative bumper insert.

For the updated Renault Kadjar, 3 wheel sizes are available - 17, 18 and 19 inches, and 3 new colors are offered: emerald green, neon blue and stone gray.

Changes in the cabin are more noticeable. A new 7-inch touchscreen display of the R-Link 2 multimedia complex with controls on the sides is integrated into the center console. Below it is an upgraded climate system control unit - the temperature and ventilation parameters are displayed on the displays in three switches. Air ducts, door handles and center console finished in matt chrome. Interior door panels with new power window controls and side mirrors are illuminated, making them much easier to use at night.

Differences in interior elements of the updated Renault Kadjar:

• front seat cushions are now adjustable in length;
• sliding center front armrest can be adapted to any body position;
• controls for electric side mirrors and power windows are placed on one backlit panel;
• storage compartments in the doors, located under the inserts with a brushed chrome finish, now accommodate large water bottles;
• rear seat passengers can use two USB ports to charge their gadgets.

Motor range for Ukraine remained the same:

• petrol turbo unit 1.2 Energy TCe 130 (130 hp, 205 Nm);
• diesel turbo engine 1.5 Energy dCi 110 (110 hp, 250 or 260 Nm depending on transmission);
• diesel turbo engine 1.6 Energy dCi 130 (130 hp, 320 Nm), which is offered for the all-wheel drive version.

The role of the base gearbox went to the six-speed "mechanics". And for those who are interested in the "automatic" Renault offered a six- and seven-speed EDC dual-clutch robotic boxes.

For front-wheel drive vehicles, the Extended Grip system is available, a technology that will help the driver in conditions of poor or insufficient grip (for example, when driving in swampy or sandy areas). If this option is available in the car, driving modes can be switched using a special switch on the center console.

For the all-wheel drive Renault Kadjar, three operating modes are offered (selected by a switch on the center console behind the gearshift lever):

• 2WD: traction is transmitted only to the front wheels;
• Auto: on-board electronics automatically distributes torque between the two axles. Up to 50% of the torque can be transferred to the rear wheels;
• lock: the center differential is locked at a constant 50/50 torque split between the front and rear wheels. This operating mode is designed for driving on difficult terrain at speeds up to 40 km/h.

The basic equipment of the Renault Kadjar includes: front and side front airbags for the driver and passenger, front and rear curtain airbags, ABS, ESP, EBV (brake force distribution), AFU (emergency braking assistance), ASR (traction control) and an assistance system when starting uphill. Also installed by default are LED daytime running lights, tire pressure sensors, air conditioning, heated front seats, front and rear pulse electric windows, front center armrest, cruise control, automatic parking brake, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, an audio system with a display on three lines, USB, AUX, Bluetooth and steering column control.

Renault Kadjar is produced at the Renault plant in Palencia (Spain).
