Renault Kangoo Z.E. is an electric version of the popular second generation Kangoo model. In France, an electric car has been on sale since 2011.

Like the original combustion engine model, the Kangoo Z.E. available as a two-seater van with a closed cargo compartment and as a five-seater van. In versions with the L1 index, the body length is 4282 mm (wheelbase 2697 mm), and with the L2 index - 4666 mm (wheelbase 3081 mm). Long-wheelbase Renault Kangoo for an extra charge can have side sliding doors (all-metal or with glass). The five-seat vehicle is equipped by default with a right sliding door with fixed glass. If necessary, the van can be ordered with rubber or wooden flooring on the floor of the cargo compartment.

The electric car is driven by a 60-horsepower (torque 226 Nm) motor, which is located under the hood. A traction lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 22 kWh is installed in the floor, and it takes 8 hours to fully charge it from a standard network. The charging port connector is hidden under the brand logo in the front of the body. Top speed Renault Kangoo Z.E. limited to 130 km / h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h, depending on the modification and body type, takes from 20.3 to 22.4 seconds.

Power reserve Kangoo Z.E. in the European NEDC test cycle - 170 km. In real conditions, an electric car is able to travel from charge to charge about 125 km. In winter, the passenger compartment heating function can be used to heat the passenger compartment without compromising range. An additional boiler runs on diesel or biodiesel fuel, which is filled into a special tank (included in the basic equipment). In addition, the energy reserve is partially renewed by recuperation during braking.

Early 2017 Renault announced Kangoo Z.E. with a 33 kWh battery and a new motor (power has not changed). The passport power reserve of such an electric car has grown to 270 km, and the real one is up to about 200 km.

The list of basic equipment Renault Kangoo Z.E. includes ABS, EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), ESP, hill start assist, frontal airbag, central locking with remote control, on-board computer, power windows for front doors, heated and electrically adjustable side mirrors, complete charger cable (16A ) and spare wheel or repair kit. The list of additional options includes air conditioning, cruise control, front passenger airbag, side airbags, parking sensors, height-adjustable driver's seat, RLink 2 media system with navigation, Bluetooth, USB and remote control under the steering wheel, fog lights, heated front seats and other equipment.
