Renault Koleos- despite the fact that the car is sold under the Renault brand, technically it is much closer to the cars of Renault's partner in the alliance - the Japanese Nissan. The platform of the car was the design of the Nissan C platform, on which the X-Trail is also built. But unlike Nissan, the "Frenchman" received a more comfortable long-travel suspension.

But the all-wheel drive system was borrowed from the "Japanese" without any changes - an electromagnetic clutch, a connecting rear axle and three transmission modes. The first is 2WD, in which only the front wheels drive the crossover. The second is Auto, in which the rear axle is connected when slip occurs on the front wheels. The third is Lock, in which torque is transmitted between the front and rear axles in a ratio of 50:50. In the latter mode, the All Mode 4x4-i system can only operate at speeds up to 40 km/h. Unlike Europe, only all-wheel drive modifications of Renault Koleos are supplied to the Ukrainian market.

As a power plant, you can choose one of two motors. The 2.5-liter gasoline engine develops 170 hp. and 226 Nm of torque. Paired with it can work as a "mechanics" in six gears, and a stepless variator. The two-liter turbodiesel produces 150 hp. and 350 Nm. It is available with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

Renault Koleos offers leather interior, acoustics from Bose, a full range of passive and active safety systems, including six airbags and ESP.

Ground clearance for petrol modifications is 206 mm, and for diesel modifications - 188 mm. Produced in South Korea.
