Renault Megane - the fourth generation of the model debuted in September 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and came out to the Ukrainian market in 2016. It is built on the CMF (Common Module Family) modular platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance, which also formed the basis of the Nissan Qashqai crossover, but in a simplified version with a semi-independent rear suspension. In addition to the hatchback, it is presented with station wagon and sedan bodies. In addition, there is a "hot" version of the Megane GT with a fully controlled chassis.
In the new generation, the Renault Megan hatchback added 64 mm in length and became 24 mm lower, including due to the ground clearance reduced to 145 mm. Trunk volume was 434 liters against 380 liters Volkswagen Golf. In general, the proportions of the body have become more balanced and sporty, stylish headlights with C-shaped strips of LED daytime running lights appeared at the front, and at the rear, no less eye-catching lights with LED elements that practically “grow together” in the center of the fifth door.
The interior of the new Renault Megane is dominated by soft-touch rubberized plastics. Between the driver and passenger is the center console, familiar from the Espace minivan, with a media system display in portrait orientation, a climate control unit, and a rubberized platform with connectors for connecting mobile devices.
Depending on the configuration, an electronic parking brake is available for the hatchback, and at the top level of equipment, Megan is offered with the Multi-Sense system (selection of driving modes, on-board computer design and Ambient interior lighting). Due to the increased wheelbase, legroom in the second row has increased. In addition, it became a little freer in the shoulders.

The most economical Renault Megane - with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel and a 6-speed EDC gearbox. Claimed fuel consumption per 100 kilometers for such a hatchback: 5.0 liters in the city, 3.7 liters on the highway and 4.2 liters in the combined cycle.
There are three complete sets: Life, Zen and Intense. The basic equipment includes front and front side airbags for the driver and passenger, anti-lock braking system ABS, ESP stability control, hill start assistant, LED daytime running lights and tire pressure monitoring. In addition, central locking, air conditioning, front and rear impulse electric windows, cruise control, exterior mirrors with electric adjustment and heating are installed. The driver's seat is adjustable in height, there is a 12-volt outlet, as well as USB and jack connectors. At the same time, the steering wheel is covered with leather, and there is a full-fledged spare tire in the trunk.
The multimedia component deserves special attention. In the basic version, this is a simple audio system with a 3-line screen, USB, jack, Bluetooth and a steering column control panel. In the top version or at an additional cost to the "intermediate" configuration, the R-Link2 media system with a 7-inch touchscreen display and a digital dashboard speedometer is offered. And for the most expensive version, an 8.7-inch display of the R-Link2 system and a Bose audio system are available for an extra charge (ordered only with a repair kit instead of a spare tire). The number of speakers varies from 4 to 8.
